Strictly Come Dancing has been a phenomenal success! After 5 series it's still going strong and has produced some very unlikely dance heroes, such as Darren Gough, Gethin Jones and chef, James Martin. But it's not just the celebrities that make the show. The professional dancers are a vital ingredient as well. Danish beauty Camilla Dallerup has been part of the team since the start, and I caught up with her to chat about her favourite music, singing badly, and a very special fashion show she'll be taking part in at the Cafe Royal on the 8th May for the children's charity Sparks. Did she manage to get me into a slinky leotard and join her?...download the interview to find out!

Legends were out in force at the London Premiere of Martin Scorsese's docu-film Shine A Light. The film features a special concert by those legends of rock - The Rolling Stones! Mick and the gang were on fine form on the red carpet. Ronnie told me that a new album is on the way and possibly another tour, although Keith admitted, he needed to recover from the last one first!

Gotta tell you about a new TV show that's coming to the Sci-Fi channel from 11th May. It's called Tin Man and is a modern take on the Wizard of Oz story! It's already the Sci-Fi channel's top rated show in the States and stars Britain's own Alan Cumming. I caught up him for one of our Magic Indulgence shows (to be aired at 7pm on Magic 105.4 also on the 11th), and what a great, down to earth guy he is! It's a brilliant interview, with some very funny comments from Alan, so make sure you listen out for it! We also found out that Tin Man's not Alan's only link to Oz either...he told myself and Magic's Paul Phear that he once dueted with the original Dorothy's daughter...Liza Minnelli. Look out for the album, Home For The Holidays to hear his track with her!

Calm yourselves ladies, McDreamy is in Town!!! Yes, that dishy doctor from Gray's Anatomy, Patrick Dempsey has been in London to promote his new film Maid Of Honour. I caught up with him to find out about the film, and discovered a juggling genius in the process....

May 1 2008 - Jessica Alba

And guys prepare to be VERY jealous. I also caught up with one of the world's sexiest girls, Jessica Alba! And it seems she's been making more than just films recently, with a new addition to her family imminent! She's also one of many talents, being a keen golfer, and video gamer, she's now even turned her hand to learning to play the violin... So, if you'd like to hear a grown man swoon and get completely consumed by a vision of beauty, then this is definitely an interview you'll want to download! Embarrassing for me. Great for you!

May 1st 2008

This week I had the pleasure of meeting up with the gorgeous Geri Halliwell at the launch of her new children's book, Eugenia Lavender. Whatever people say about the Spice Girls, they certainly knew how to have fun, and it seems Geri's inner child is still desperate to get out! And make sure you listen out to magic 105.4 this Sunday from 7pm where Neil Fox will be having a chat to her about the book, and finding out about that infamous on / off friendship she and George Michael share!

Guys, get ready for a lads night out! Why? Because your ladies are about to go Sex And The City crazy! I caught up with two fans of the show recently, Magic's Angie Greaves and shoe legend, Jimmy Choo. Jimmy told me that he's very excited about the forthcoming film...turns out he's a big fan of Magic too!

World Cup legend, Sir Geoff Hurst doesn't mince his words! And he's not happy that England appointed a foreign coach. he told me that his choice would have been Pompy manager Harry Redknapp. As for the manager of his team, West Ham...well, he's not too happy there either! Alan Curbishley needs a good season next season, or his days could be numbered by the sounds of things. Crazy really, especially when you think West Ham lie above the mighty Spurs in the table at the moment!

I've just got to tell you what a thoroughly nice bloke Billy Ocean is. Here's a man who's never lost his love of music. He's still as passionate about it now as he was when he was having such huge hits as When The Going Gets Tough and Suddenly. He's also an astute businessman, with property and even a restaurant in Brixton London to his name...keep checking back here for my revue of said eatery...I've got an invite to dinner!

Quick get a doctor...actually, get a lawyer! I did an interview with two of The Temptations, Otis Williams and Ron Tyson for Magic's Indulgence show recently and just as head 'Temp' Otis got up to shake my hand, he cracked his head on the studio speakers! Luckily his baseball cap cushioned the blow...and in fairness he did have the most ridiculously dark sunglasses on at the time! Still, once I'd given him my rendition of My Girl he seemed fine again...in fact I've never seen anyone laugh as loud as that in all my life...must have just been having a good time

AWARD WINNER??!!
I'm delighted to announce that I've been nominated as Programme Producer of the Year at the British Radio Awards for my work on the More Music Breakfast Show. Keep checking back for details on how you can vote for me or contact the organisers X-trax at editorial@x-trax.com
Neil Fox is also up, as is Magic as a station! All votes will be much appreciated.
Thanks, Jamie.

EVA LONGORIA

She may be a Desperate Housewife, but Eva Longoria - Parker is a real angel. Starring in the new Rom-com Over Her Dead Body at the moment, she plays a bride-to-be caught in an unusual love triangle. And there was nearly an extra person in that triangle after I meet up with her to chat about the film. Sat closely on her luxurious sofa, and with her pouring me the tea, it's no wonder I was a little lost for words...so much so in fact, Eva had to take over interviewing herself....and hey, I very nearly got myself a Valentines date from it!

PAUL McCARTNEY
I've met some legends in my time as a showbiz interviewer, but they don't come any bigger than a Beatle! I popped along to meet Sir Paul McCartney at the Great Ormond Street Children's Hospital Christmas party, where he auctioned off one of his guitars to help raise money for them.

SIR RICHARD BRANSON
With The Spice Girls needing to get back to London for their first UK gig in 10 years they flew back into the UK on their very own Spice plane, (Spice One) donated by Sir Richard Branson! I caught up with the entrepreneur at his new terminal building at London's Heathrow airport...

Interview

THE SPICE GIRLS
The biggest pop phenomenon since the Beatles are back and I was invited out to Vancouver, Canada to experience the first reunion gig for The Spice Girls. It was amazing! I don't care what anyone says...everyone that saw that shows knows that those girls still have Girl Power in abundance, and wow did they use it!

Interview

DOLLY PARTON
When the Queen of Country said she was coming to town I dusted off my finest rhinestones and headed of to London's Dorchester hotel, where she told me about her new tour, life in music, and how she's backing Peter Rabbit to encourage our kids to read more....

CLIFF RICHARD
It's Christmas time. Mistletoe & Wine etc...which means there must be a Cliff Richard record out! And true to form...there is!!!!...

WESTLIFE
They may not have been looking for a replacement for former member Brian McFadden, but that didn't stop me offering his services when I caught up with Westlife recently...

MISS PIGGY
Given that I've often been called a bit of a Muppet myself, the bosses at magic 105.4 couldn't think of anyone better to head out to an exclusive London hotel for an intimate chat with Miss Piggy...

TIM VINCENT
Amazingly, he's been on our screens for over 20 years and is one of Britain's most versatile talents (who's now making a name for himself Stateside). I popped over to Regents Park to catch up with former Blue Peter man, Tim Vincent, where we spent an unusual sunny afternoon, chasing dogs for a very special campaign in London...

Now it's not often I get to have a fun chat with an Arsenal fan, given how well they're playing this year...and added to that how poorly my Spurs doing, but Freddie Highmore was a delight to talk to when I caught up with him for his new film August Rush.

I've interviewed some legends now, and Donny Osmond is up there with the best of them! He's on tour again in the Uk at the moment and it was a pleasure to catch up with him just before his Wembley date where he told me among other stories, that a certain Michael Jackson advised him to change his name so that people would buy his records again...having seen the sales for his shows though, I don't think Donny has anything to worry about...he's a big as ever, and is certainly still a hit with my mum and her friends, who by the way, took a bag full of underwear to his Cardiff show (their collective throwing arms were working overtime) and left with and kisses aplenty - sorry Donny!

Imagine becoming a superstar singing sensation at the tender age of 19… It’s the stuff dreams are made of! But it’s not just about the music, it’s also about looking great, as pop star Lily Allen knows only too well.

Lily’s well known for her unique and inimitable style and loves playing around with different looks and hairstyles. I popped down to the launch of Braun's Satin Hair Care range to find out how her new album is coming along, how's she's coped with her ill-health and why she's become a champion fire builder!...

"I'm Not Fat...I'm just a bit unfit!"

"Forget the Summer Blockbusters, this is the best flick of the year!" - Well, that's my quote of the film poster and I'm sticking with it! A chunky, clueless guy leaves his pregnant fiancée on their wedding day only to discover, 5 years later, that she is his one true love. But in order to win back her heart, he looks to finish his first marathon while making her realise her new man is the wrong guy for her.

This film truly is funny, as are it's stars who I caught up with at a swanky London Hotel this week....

2 Days in Paris - C'est magnifique!

If you have a certain impression of France...no makrovided by... and starring Academy Award nominated writer Julie Delpy. TWO DAYS IN PARIS is a charmingly quirky comedy about a neurotic couple from New York struggling to stay together during a two day stopover in Paris.

French photographer Marion (Julie Delpy) and American interior designer Jack (Adam Goldberg, Friends, Keeping up with the Steins) attempt to re-infuse their relationship with romance by tae that 'the French' then this film will confirm everything!
Written, directed...produced....edited... with music pking a vacation in Paris. But with Marion's overbearing French parents, flirtatious ex-boyfriends and Jack's obsession with photographing every famous Parisian tombstone, the situation becomes ever more tenuous.

I caught up with Julie recently, and as you'll hear in the interview, I for one, will certainly never be able to look at a helium balloon in the same way again....

2 Days In Paris is on general release now!

He's not just a Boy Wizard!

Based on the classic Michael Noonan novel, "December Boys" is a story of four orphan teenagers growing up behind the closed doors of a catholic convent in outback Australia. For years the boys watch younger kids leave with their newly adopted parents and have come to the realization their time may never come.
The Reverend Mother gives the boys something to look forward to by sending them to visit the seaside for the first time. Their long awaited vacation doesn't turn out the way they planned until they meet Teresa & Fearless, a young autocratic couple that would make the perfect parents.

As men, they remember back to the 60's when, as boys, they spent their first tumultuous summer by the sea as they sabotaged each others efforts to be the chosen one only to discover the real meaning behind what it is to be a family, i.e. one of the "December Boys."

I caught up with the star of the film, Harry Potter's Daniel Radcliffe, who took time out from his Quiditch matches to make this film and tell me all about, practising Australian accents, doing love scenes and just what his favourite joke of the moment is....

Keira's more than just kissing!

This week saw the Premiere of Keira Knightley's new film Atonement. The film is based on the Ian McEwen novel and also stars the Last King of Scotland and Narnia's James McAvoy. I caught up with them on the Red Carpet and despite criticism for her weight I have to say Keira looked amazing. She's a lot more fun than people give her credit for and happily played along when I asked her if she thought she'd win another award like the one she just won at the Teen Choice Awards for Best Screen Kiss (in Pirates). She explained that the scene in this film is far more than just a kiss so they may have to change the category name if she were to be nominated again! As for James, well he was very unassuming and was genuinely shocked that fans were calling out his name, "this is the only place I'll ever get girls screaming my name" he told me. Well James, there are a few girls in the magic office who I'm sure would like to disprove that fact for you!!!

Atonement is on general release now (and looks set to be listed in the nominations for both the Oscars and Bafta's next year!)

Working with a legend!

This week I achieved an ambition of mine. You see, I have a list of people I'd like to meet and interview in my career and one of those names was the legendary Richard Briers. This man always had the ability to make me laugh when I was younger. I was a massive fan of The Good Life and of course his voice is still recognised today as the narrator from Noddy. Well I was fortunate enough to actually work with him this week, which was an absolute pleasure. He is just as warm and friendly as you'd imagine him to be, and for a man of 73, he's still as bright and witty as ever. Even even gave me a heads up on a future appearance of his, so watch out for the new series of Casualty, and a very special guest on it!

Aug 12

It's been a smashing Summer of Movies this year, and I've been lucky enough to be able to have covered most of their Premieres for Magic! Of the big blockbusters I have to say Transformers is by far the best film! It took me right back to 1984 when the Autobots were the kings of my television viewing as well as my playroom! Loved The Simpson too, though I did feel as though they could have made a bit more of it for the Movie (it was a bit like a 90min episode..which actually isn't such a bad thing!) I've also been able to have a sneak peek at The Bourne Ultimatum (better then Supremacy, but not as good as Identity) and you have to catch Hairspray which is just 'Hairlarious' - sorry I had to use that pun there...I've not been allowed to use it on air yet!!! Another cracker is the animated film Surf's Up...which NO...is not just another penguin movie. It genuinely had me in stitches (As it did TV's Richard Madeley who was practically crying in front of me!) I've uploaded an interview with Jeff Bridges for you below, so if you have a chance, check it out! He's a real 'dude' and I only wish I'd been able to get some more time with him, so we could have chatted more about catching 'that perfect wave'!

Also, check out the new home page for the More Music Breakfast Show at www.Magic.co.uk/Neil There's more cool stuff being added to it all the time, and of course, you'll soon be able to get all the incorrect answers to the new season of Magic's Mystery Voices there too!

Mamma Mia

This Summer, The Prince Edward Theatre (off Piccadilly Circus), will see the 3,500th performance of the Abba based smash hit musical Mamma Mia.

After 8 years, the show is stronger than ever, and with a feature film version in production right now, with Pierce Brosnan and Meryl Streep in lead roles.

I was invited to meet the current West End cast of Linzi Hateley, Jane Gurnett and Joanna Monro who play the dynamos, Donna, Tanya and Rosie in their dressing room, as they warmed up for a nights' show. In what may have been the funniest (and most random) interview I've ever been involved in, the girls were very relaxed as we watched the day's local news on TV and chatted about the show's success, meeting Meryl Streep...and chickens in China!?! Download the interview and all will be revealed...

Surf's Up

Yes, the latest animated penguin movie has hit our shores. Starring the voice talents of Transformers' Shia LaBeuof & The Big Lebowski's Jeff Bridges, and portrayed in a Spinal Tap style mocumentary way, this is the daddy of all penguin movies. I caught up with Jeff at his London hotel earlier this week, to get the low-down on what it's like to ride the virtual waves, how film animation has come on since he stared in Spielberg's Tron and...as an L.A resident, his opinion on 'The Big David Beckham Debate'! This guy really was 'The Dude' as you'll find out if you download the podcast below...

A worried Jamie considers whether interviewing The Death Eaters was such a good move!

Jessica Taylor

Jessica Taylor is the girl that has everything! A million pound recording contract. Three successful albums off the back of a hugely popular TV Show. She's worked with some of the biggest talents in pop, is friends with Richard Branson, has a modelling contract with one of London's biggest agencies, and is engaged to one of England's bright hopes in cricket. We're soon to be seeing even more of her too, as she's about to become the face ...and LEGS of Veet waxing strips!
I caught up with her this week, to find out if the rumours of a Liberty X split are true, Oh! And to see just how smooth those legs really are!!!

Start of a busy week, I've just done an interview with Ian 'H' Watkins launching his new musical 'Fame'...available to download Click here for interview

The Sue Pollard Interview

Well! I've just come back from the funniest interview I have ever done! Many of you will remember Su Pollard best for her role as Peggy in 80's sitcom, Hi De Hi, but she's currently treading the boards in the global success...Menopause - The Musical (at The Shaw Theatre in Euston). It's not the first time Su's been involved with music. She already has a No.2 single to her name and it was singing on Opportunity Knocks that first brought her to the nations attention...although as she recalls, she did come second to a performing Jack Russell! She's also done musicals before, with Pirates of Penzance, Annie and Grease on her CV. And when asked about her views on the new Grease TV show, she wasn't backwards in coming forwards and telling me exactly what she thinks of that kind of show. In fact, I got that a lot with this interview. You can't help but love her and get swept away by her infectious enthusiasm for life and this show, and I can honestly say, if Menopause - The Musical is half as funny as this interview was, then you're guaranteed a side splitting evening of great entertainment!
